This is a painting that I completed for the band Watson. I also designed and produced the package design.

This is an image that I completed as part of a final project in college. I believe it was for a life drawing (anatomy) class. It’s not perfect anatomy but I love the loose, expressive style of the drawing. I didn’t intend it to mean anything but after I looked at the finished piece I thought that it looked like the guy was day dreaming about his woman or something - hence the name.

Back in the day I used to dream of being a comic book artist. Actually I’d still like to dabble in it if I lived the movie Multiplicity. I just don’t have the time. I was developing some decent anatomy chops and a somewhat professional style before I gave it all up to get a real job. This was a character concept that someone asked me to do to prove my skills. I thought it was very good but I never heard back from the guy. He either hated my work or he just stole the concept and art and it’s published somewhere without my knowledge. She sure is cute though, eh?

A few years ago I was hired to design a book called Hypothetical Erotica. I designed the cover, did all the page design and cranked out some cool, low tech illustrations to illustrate each chapter with a combination of clip art, manipulated photography and computer graphics. Here are a couple selections from the book. More to come….

Back in the day, I wanted to be a comic book artist. I have a lot of art that I will post here some day but I stumbled over a series of sketches for a comic strip I was planning called “Phoobar”. The main character was Phil Phoobar. The idea of the comic was that Phil was a super hero but he didn’t realize it. He would just pass out from too much dope and then his alter ego would take over. Maybe someday I’ll pursue it again; this time I’ll probably have to come up with some workaround for the “dope” part of the concept since I have 3 kids now. ![]()

This is one of my first (and few) attempts at digital art. I just stumbled over this from about 7 years ago and I thought it turned out pretty good. Maybe I should have stuck with it eh?
This isn’t really art in the traditional sense because it’s digital. Basically I combined a photo of a woman and many other elements and what resulted after much tweaking and playing is the resulting image. What you see here is only part of the image so click to enlarge to see the full view. Someday I’d like to do a painting of this digital piece.

I thought this was an interesting piece of art that I dug out of my childhood archives. I used to be obsessed with the rock band KISS even at a young age. My grandpa bought me my first record album when I was 7 years old and I chose KISS Alive II - complete will KISS posters and (the coolest thing ever) press on KISS tattoos! I’m sure I used them all in the first few days but I still remember thinking how cool it was. I was disappointed for years after as I purchased more albums that didn’t contain the same level of cool goodies. Just music? What the heck!? KISS has always been the masters of marketing.
I just wonder what my parents thought when they saw stuff like this. I bet they thought I was going to grow up an ax murderer or something. I used to draw all kinds of bloody, fire breathing, rock star art at my grandma’s. She was always very supportive of course. ![]()
