Restless Layers

This seascape is built from layered textures and repeating wave-like forms, creating the impression of movement across water and sky. I often say that I paint the wind and this is a great example of attemping to paint something that you can feel, but can’t see. Soft shades of turquoise, teal, and white suggest shifting currents, while sandy beige and muted gold tones evoke the shoreline. Subtle script is layered over top, suggesting a memory of the feeling, a journal entry from an enjoyable day, or a letter to a friend or lover.
